BIC Media Solutions continues with strategic plan, projects.
As we wrap up the first quarter of 2018 and prepare for the rest of the year, let’s take a look at where we are with BIC Media Solutions’ latest projects. First of all, I’m thrilled to announce we have completed our promotional video or what I like to call our “sizzle reel.” This approximately three-minute sizzle reel highlights our speakers bureau, custom book publishing, film production and other services. We worked with Tracy Balsz of IndieMarketing in Los Angeles and Jose Enrique Gonzalez of Provicom in Houston to complete this video. We also completed a 30-second TV spot that we plan to air on energy- and business-related programming. At BIC Media, we believe “Every Great Story Needs Sharing,” and we’ll use these promotional videos to help others share great stories of their own.
Films and Books
BIC Media’s latest film “Urban Country,” had its first private screening in Biloxi, Mississippi, and it was a huge success. However, “Urban Country” will have its first public, world premiere screening at the Louisiana International Film Festival (LIFF) April 20. More information about LIFF and the premiere can be found at www.lifilmfest. org. “Urban Country” is a coming-of-age, family/faith-friendly drama about Faith, an 18-year-old girl from the city who moves to a horse ranch in the country to help her dying mother.
BIC Media’s films have now been screened in several theaters and on many television networks. Our documentary film, “Rock Bottom and Back,” is now airing on Upliftv, a new and unique television network that features more Christian and inspirational films than any other channel.
“‘Rock Bottom and Back’ is a great fit for Upliftv because our audience appreciates good movies that tell real-life stories of redemption,” said Bob Higley, CEO of Upliftv. “It is a compelling movie that shows what people can accomplish by putting their faith in God, especially after undergoing overwhelming failures or tragedies.”
Our latest custom book that we published for TDS Inc. is now being distributed to industry professionals across the country. “The Journey: A Practical Guide to Becoming an Exceptional Supervisor” is a collaboration with TDS and LaunchPad Writing + Research. “The Journey” presents a number of insightful tips and strategies on exceptional supervision collected by Barry D. Hardy, president and CEO of TDS. Hardy, along with Ted Moon of LaunchPad, wrote this book to give supervisors a head start on becoming exceptional, with practical lessons that can be readily implemented in the plant rather than just collect dust on the bookshelf.
I was astounded to find out 112 million Americans listened to at least one podcast in 2017. According to reports, that number is up 11 percent from 2016. Because of this growing popularity, BIC Media has formed a strategic alliance with Scott MacKenzie, who hosts the Industrial Talk Podcast. Moon and BIC Alliance Director of Strategy and Development Mark Peters recently appeared on the Industrial Talk Podcast to talk more about “The Journey.” I have also made a couple podcast appearances of my own recently. I was a guest on the Charisma Podcast Network and Angela Breidenbach’s Lit Up! Radio podcast, where I discussed the importance of “meaningful media.” Breidenbach also serves nationally as the Christian Author Network’s president. With these podcasts, I’ve been able to share my thoughts on how empathy, listening to others, an attitude of gratitude and networking are key to success in business. I am considering launching a BIC Media Solutions Meaningful Media Podcast within the next few months.
Events and speaking engagements
BIC Alliance’s Leadership Series is also kicking off this month. Its first workshop, “Critical Communication Skills,” helps industry professionals develop and enhance their written communication skills. The session is led by Moon and also features Adam Scheiner, an equity sector strategist for UBS Wealth Management’s Chief Investment Office. Scheiner will address the current state of the industry. We are looking forward to hosting future educational and informative sessions as part of BIC’s Leadership Series.
BIC Media will continue to network, partner and educate others on producing family/faith-friendly content. I will speak at the Global Media Summit in Dallas this month. I will be educating others on how to fund and produce inspirational films and implement product placement in films. BIC Media will also be a sponsor of the Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance event, a classic car and vintage wooden boat show, in Seabrook, Texas, May 5-6. With the help of Provicom, BIC Media will be filming and producing a video about the Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance event.
